Following the sad news of the passing of Aron Eisenberg yesterday, today we learn of the passing of another Star Trek guest star and horror movie veteran Sid Haig

Sid appeared in Star Trek as a Lawgiver in the episode The Return of the Archrons, though is best known for his work in horror movies such as House of a 1000 Corpses, The Devils Rejects and the upcoming 3 From Hell in which he played Captain Spaulding to rave reviews.

A character actor who had dozens of credits in both film and television that spanned almost 55 years and working with directors such as James Cameron and Quentin Tarantino!

He was a huge favourite on the convention circuit and was a down to earth and gentle giant of a man.

He was 80 years old.
